Good analogy Hoogy. If you sprint like me, it is in the last fifty yards.
We used to do bridge sprints - as opposed to town limit sign sprints. The logic being that bridges are generally down hill and lend themselves to sprints. South of Asheville where we trained, there were two bridges within one hundred yards of each other. I always went for the second bridge as the others would be spent from the first. It was my only hope. I was a climber back then and could not sprint even in my prime.
Now an old man, our favorite bridge sprint is at the bottom of a steep hill. To win that sprint, you have to break 50 and it is on a curve. Not for the faint hearted.
