The way I'm reading it seems like this one was pretty clearly


legal at least- the severity of the crime being committed is high (attempted murder), and the close proximity and body motion represents immediate threat. It's a tough thing to suss out gun vs knife, but if cops are to have guns and be permitted the use of lethal force at all, this one leans toward a responsible use of it imo. Sad, but I don't really like the idea of the standard procedure being to let the stabbing happen then hope it's not fatal and that treatment for the wound will suffice.
