and part of the problem is that people don't read. They react to videos that hit them at a visceral level and confirm their biases for them. This is always true, but the victimhood is non-stop from the aggrieved white Trump subculture. It is the purest definition of Trumpism. It is indeed, the raison d'etre for organizations like Fox News and it's despicable relatives and it has been going on for 30 years at least. It was and is deliberate. Add in social media and it is a toxic stew. Thus far it has culminated in the actions of a President to remain in office despite losing. When 70% of GOPers still think that Biden is illegitimate, this is precisely the result that Fox and sympathizers are looking for. The Waldo moment.

There are a lot of reasons that people embrace populism and that's where the analysis needs to be because a real examination reveals the deep-seated resentments of race and class inequality that are driving it. Some of the Trumpists have good reason to embrace it and the Bernie Bros, too. They accurately perceive that they have been neglected and that this isn't the United States they grew up to expect. Joe Biden is trying to reverse that. Others are too. It remains to be seen whether we're too late.
