I actually think almost everybody just wants free speech.
For the most part, push back against that comes from the extremes.
But everybody also agrees that there are limits - like the famous “fire” in a crowded theater. So there are “border regions” of free speech where partisan disagreements arise - like when a sitting president spreads venomous lies in crying about an electoral loss, trying to overturn the will of the people, and sowing doubt in the bedrock foundation of our democracy.
IMO, Trump has spent nearly 6 months - more, including his prep work declaring that he could only lose via fraud (when he’s never won a popular vote in his life, nor seen political approval ratings above 50%) - effectively screaming “fire” in the halls of our democracy. I don’t like Facebook and Twitter making these calls, but Trump and his forces, some of whom are under direct legal jeopardy right now, are reaping exactly what they sowed.
