-- fast tracks FDA approval of a vaccine in almost miraculous fashion, leading to the only real way out of this mess (perceived herd immunity)

-- Puts his second-in-command in charge of the federal effort to address all aspects of the situation

-- Notably, started all of this while defending himself in a bogus impeachment trial, which distracted him and everyone else from perhaps addressing COVID even earlier than we did.
