Look, you have to be a dumbass to believe everything you see on TV or, in

particular, on social media. But imagery is still very powerful and very effective. People have known that for centuries. Developing a healthy skepticism is the only way to go and even that can fail us sometimes. Confirmation bias is built-in. You just need to realize that; look in the mirror every now and then and also be open to changing your mind based on real data.

I think Thomas Jefferson founded an entire University dedicated to that. :)
