Uh, this is a bigger issue than what is typically voted on in that it
Affects the outcome of future votes — and therefore literally every piece of legislation to follow. I don’t think it’s fair to cite this as a case of situational ethics.
This is the reason, btw, that votes to change bylaws and voting practices in companies are subject to different processes and thresholds. And why constitutional amendments are so difficult to pass.
We need a national standard for how elections are conducted. Leaving it to the states is a weakness in our democracy. [Post edited by TomGlansAski at 07/13/2021 3:54PM]
