The very fact that the person who spear-headed most of the efforts to downplay the virus himself had to be rushed to a hospital via chopper and treated for 3 days for respiratory problems related to infection should be all the information they need to get a vaccine immediately. The saddest part of it may be that there are millions of people in undeveloped countries who would love to get a vaccine, who don't have it available, and yet millions of Americans with easy access to a free vaccine are too goddamned dumb to take advantage of it. But they'll happily wave the flag and talk about American superiority, and the advantages of being born in the United States. They'll support armed militias at the border to stop any foreigner from gaining those advantages but are too absolutely brain dead to avail themselves of those advantages they are priveleged to have access to.
