....and according to this, violent crime

is flat to slightly down YTD, down 2% compared to 2 years ago, down 12% compared to 11 years ago, and down more than 80% compared to 30 years ago.

Edited to add: those stats above include burglary and grand larceny. If you just want to consider murder, rape, robbery, and felony assault, those combined are up 3% compared to last year (who could predict crime might be up compared to a year when everyone was locked inside their apartments) and are up 0.7% compared to 2 years ago, and are down 87% compared to 30 years ago.

Where do you live? Would be interesting to compare and contrast crime stats for your hometown with that of NYC
