Good COVID intel from recent CDC study…

I’ve provided links below both to the study and a news report covering it.

Sorry to disappoint, but nothing political in it — just good data from a long-term and widespread study of blood samples for indications of antibodies:

— Long story short, an estimated 85% of the US now has some amount of antibody protection due to either past infection and/or vaccines, which is where a population would typically need to be for herd immunity.

— Obviously, there’s some question about “waning” antibody protection and whether and how much prior infection/vaccines confer immunity to new variants.

— Belief is that at least twice as many people (>20% of population) as reported in official case stats have actually had COVID.

— Demos: White/Asian demo has higher vax rate and lower prior infection relative to Hispanic/black demo. Younger demo has higher prior infection rate relative to older.
