That map maxes out at 5-3 Dem in my opinion. 3d, 4th, and 5th districts
will be red in perpetuity. It sure ain’t a partisan gerrymander! (We have a purportedly non-partisan committee structure by very recent constitutional amendment)
The new 8th District is certainly swingier than I as a Dem would have hoped.
In right-leaning cycles it could easily be 4-4 or even 5-3 Republican.
Looks like the Republicans on the committee were willing to sacrifice Boebert to keep 3 very Republican leaning districts and 1-2 swingy ones.
I think any holdout Republicans on the committee better come around to this, it is unlikely to get any better for them.
