get inoculated for COVID, it's obvious the misinformation machine regarding COVID and the vaccine is working. The excuses from NBA players:

1. There are "a lot of people" with adverse reactions to the vaccine.

2. You can still get COVID being vaccinated.

3. With my age group and personal fitness level, COVID is not a fear of mine.

4. I already had COVID.

1 => There are no guarantees with the vaccine. There's a very very slight chance you can have an adverse reaction like with ANY vaccine. However, there's a far better chance becoming severely sick with COVID by being unvaccinated.

2 => You definitely can get COVID even when vaccinated, especially with the variant. The vaccine is still effective, but not as much as we hoped in March. HOWEVER, the vaccine is extremely effective against severe illness, hospitalizations, and most importantly, fatalities. This should be repeated over and over again. That's the main point.

3 => Yes, the younger and fit you are, the less chance of severe illness or death from COVID. That is true. However, the vaccine (at least over 12), even further limits the chance of severe illness and death. FURTHERMORE, the vaccine is not always about YOU. The vaccine still helps limit infections ... which ultimately protects your fe!low colleagues, livelihood, teammates, friends, and most importantly, your loved ones ... some who might be vulnerable at home.

4 => it's unusual but you can get COVID more than once especially with the new variants. Thus, help reduce your risk for hospitalization and death by getting vaccinated. Keep ICUs with vacancies so sick people without COVID can use it as well.

It's your choice to get vaccinated or not. There is no 100% guarantee with the vaccine. However, the risk / reward HEAVILY weighs towards reward for vaccination. Spreading misinformation about the vaccine and COVID is despicable. You can see it has impact. It's the reason we should have little patience for the likes of jpmhoo and LA Hoo.
