Which policies of trump largely worked? Was it the
haphazard, unpredictable use of tariffs against allies and adversaries alike? Was it the nearly $8 trillion in debt racked up in just 4 years? Was it the constant downplaying of covid, mocking masks, holding massive indoor maskless rallies himself as cases were rising? Was it negotiating the surrender agreement with the taliban but not having the stones to follow through with our withdrawal. Or was it publicly siding with Putin and believing his “strong and powerful denials” over his own intelligence agencies in a shameful and embarrassing display of fealty to a foreign leader on the world stage.
So I’m not just shitting on trump… I’ll give him credit for not getting us into any new conflicts, for not introducing a bunch of new onerous business regulations by executive fiat like his predecessor, and I believe he pushed through some changes around pricing transparency for medical costs. I give him credit for those things in total seriousness. But that hardly makes up for the shit show of the other items and in particular his gross mishandling and abdication of leadership responsibilities during the worst public health crisis to hit this country in the last 100 years.
And none of that gets into his non stop LYING about a stolen election despite presenting zero evidence to support such a serious claim by a sitting president. That alone should be a total disqualification for him ever sniffing public office again to anyone with a handful of functioning brain cells
