There is a bit of issue on unknown long term effect of the vaccine.

For kids, serious health risk from either Covid or vaccine are very low, that a small number of complication cases would greatly affect the Covid vs vaccine risk ratio. Both my wife and I got Covid back in March, so my 6 year old, who co-sleeps with my wife either already had it without any symptom or effectively immune to it. So to me, there really isn't much point for him to get the vaccine. I don't think it is likely the vaccine has any long term negative effects, but if the possibility is ever so slightly above nil, the risk analysis changes. But we still did just because I see that be a requirement for school eventually and it makes some of our friends and associate feel more comfortable at gatherings.
