Virginia was a colony in 1640. And there were people living here before your colonist ancestors, your immigrant ancestors, grabbed some land here.
Don’t sugarcoat this. Boca’s point is very valid that we were far from the first but our country was taken from people who lived here first. And it was largely initially built on the backs of slave labor, later largely built by exploited new waves of immigrants.
