I'd put this article in the category of thou doth protest too much. I don't think LA Hoo said they were the exact same thing, Nazism and Socialism. What he said was their methods were both similar and different but their philosophy wasn't off by much and it's not. Nazism and Socialism are all about mind and thought control, the collective versus the individual, and focusing on groups that provide resistance to that.

They are both inherently evil and I see very little practical difference in them. I see very little difference between Stalin and Hitler, likewise. They both endorsed and signed off on the murder of portions of their citizenry. Now, they were for different reasons, if you will but at the end of the day, Nazism and Socialism provide for execution of enemies as well those who would otherwise be burdens in their minds.

Winston Churchill clearly understood that while Nazism was the pressing enemy of the day, the Bolsheviks were a rising and severe threat. He also knew he couldn't trust Stalin even though he'd made a deal with the devil. I guess my question, aside from one's need to feel as though they are unequivocally correct and factual with no nuance whatsoever, is why anyone would defend the lumping of socialism and nazism together? They are both complete shit. That's the point. I see romantic notions of socialism and it makes me want to puke.
