in 2002 seems like a statistically significant increase on the heels of 9/11. No, that doesn't mean ALL muslims are targeted all the time. Sixer can speak for himself, but I read the "all" in his post to mean a backlash against all muslims as opposed to a backlash against extremist/violent muslims. But whatever the case, it would not be appropriate for law enforcement authorities to use an incident like this to jump to the immediate conclusion that it was a radical islamic attack on a synagogue before all of the facts and circumstance of the case are known.
