Pretty much won the round. In the last election, all dems were painted with the label “socialist” where voters were sensitive to it, no matter how hard those not named Bernie or AOC insisted they aren’t. They were tagged with defund the police no matter how hard they opposed it. Dems have extremes that will choose these hills to die on, and a political philosophy based entirely on grievance and scapegoating will always paint that with a broad brush.

Bucketing school children based on their racial identity is not “CRT”, as far as I know. “CRT” is a collection of legal principles about racism embedded in institutions. I don’t think it teaches that people are victims or oppressors based on their skin color. I agree that dems (and all of us) should oppose that sort of lesson plan, and shouldn’t even get wrapped up in what it’s called. Just oppose it. Probably can’t win an argument about it being isolated and exaggerated by propagandists, so simply oppose it when you see it.

But anti-CRT laws generally don’t make clear what they’re banning. So broader teaching of history can easily be incorporated into it. I think the push should be to make such bans be specific. A law that bans “crt” is meaningless. It’s creating a scapegoat. People who scream bloody murder about “crt”, but can’t tell you what it really is, which is most of them, need to be deprogrammed from a cult. That’s a tough thing to do. There probably should be lawsuits, although that could be turned against dems in the propaganda wars, to make these laws be very specific about what they mean to ban. If plain old history, the bans need to be banned.
