A lesson plan that includes the following realities: blacks were considered property for centuries on this continent. The Constitution is a brilliant roadmap for governance with respect for individual rights at the forefront. But the fact is that at its adoption the only individuals whose rights were really defended were white land owning men. Over time that extended to all white men. That really persisted for over a century. For non-white people, close to 2 centuries. And racial inequities persist today.

Those are all valid, necessary elements of truly balanced social studies (as we called it back in the day) education. Do they run afoul of “CRT”? What happens to “offending” educators if states decided they do?

I’d suggest there needs to be strong pushback against “CRT” bans. Bans need to be very specific.
