It's not just her filibuster stance. She's basically been flipping (link)

the bird to her party as well as her base for a while now. At best she's just been ignoring them. She won't do interviews and won't speak publicly about her positions, except to deliver a middle school valedictorian speech about how the filibuster protects democracy to upstage her party's POTUS. She hasn't held a single town hall since being elected. Just 8 percent of her party’s voters view the senator favorably. There's no way in hell she can get re-elected, unless it's by Republicans, so why wouldn't AZ Dems want to primary her.
