Inclined to virtue signal in public (like yourself), are often the first to violate basic principles on which this nation was founded and that its symbols are supposed to represent. And among them are also white Christian nationalists who have a very different view of who deserves basic rights in this country.

Many of the people who really serve do so quietly without a lot of fanfare — like my dad, my uncle, and both grandfathers. A not insignificant percentage of today’s military are also minorities— the same people you try to “thank” by disenfranchising (or even deporting).

Meanwhile you and others in your party try to wrap yourself in the flag and portray yourself as more patriotic and grateful because you support playing a song and standing for the duration. It’s theater over substance, but that’s what the modern GOP is — it’s the party of the biblical golden calf. You are idol worshippers who have lost touch with what’s truly important— actions rather than symbols. You and your GOP compatriots don’t hold a candle to the Greatest Generation.
