…use facts and reason to change an opinion that wasn’t arrived at using facts and reason. Mask mandates have never been about facts and reason. They are childish talisman-like requirements imposed on us by neurotics and fetishistic tyrants.

Hence, getting rid of the mask mandates is going to require more than simply pointing out that they don’t work and are ultimately harmful. I’m not sure how we do that. My guess is that fear of maintaining mandates will have to exceed fear of getting rid of them.

Further complicating it is that once the mandates disappear, nothing will change regarding the virus, making it obvious even to the true-believers that this last two years of abusing children has been for naught. That’s not going to be a good look for the coronabros, and they’ll want to delay that accountability for as long as possible.
