I won two tickets on WLEE to see the Beach Boys, the Strawberry Alarm Clock, the Soul Survivors - and the Buffalo Springfield - at the Richmond Arena in 1967. Took a date (but my parents had to drive since I was in middle school). Unbelievable show as you can well imagine. Afterwards, my date wanted some autographs, so I tore a square of paper from a flyer and went backstage. Three of the Buffalo Springfield guys were the only ones hanging around over by a couple Trailways-style buses (no fancy tour buses for them). I found Steve Stills and Richie Furay, got theirs, and then saw Neil standing by the back of one of the buses with ten or so girls lined up in front of him, and one by one, Neil French kissing each one. So I did what anybody would do and stood in line, too, and instead of a kiss, I got Neil's autograph. Gave the sheet with three autographs to my date who sold them to my best friend for $2 the next day at school (our first date then became our last :) And then, when I turned 40, my best friend (RIP) had the autographs framed and gave them back to me. I told that story to Graham Nash 6 or 7 years ago who thought it was hilarious and told me he was supposed to see Neil in a few days and was going to tell him the story.
