It’s stupid, but if the dude with the goatee wants to be called

a woman and referred to as “she/her” why do you care? Or are you going to be the asshole that insists on calling a transgender person by the pronoun associated with their biological sex.

I worked with a guy — Michael — who is transgender and now goes by “Michelle”. If I’m honest, “Michelle” looks like Michael in drag. But I referred to “her” as “Michelle” because that is what “she” wanted. Does that make me “woke”? Should I have instead insisted on calling “Michelle” “Michael” and use “him/he” instead of “her/she” despite Michelle’s wishes to the contrary?
