ties Newt to the current madness trend particularly in the GOP. They made some good points although he had plenty of help along the way (in a more general sense). But prior to the Newt takeover tactics, Congress certainly a far better record of collegiality. I remember reading Lou Cannon's bio of Reagan. Ronnie and Tip would fight like hell during the day and enjoy after work cocktails with both of them having a fondness for self deprecating Irish humor.

I'm not a big Ronnie fan (as you might guess), but we lost something important that I never expect to see again really in my last couple of decades of life. Of course, Obama and John Boehner (spelling?) actually got along quite well on a personal level. Maybe I'm being too bleak.
