Were being admitted for COVID, we’re going to ICU because of COVID, or had died from COVID. And frankly I’m tired. Tired of trying to discuss COVID with people with no interest in listening, in having actual meaningful conversations, but who are convinced that reading a few articles that are consistent with their preconceived notions make them some sort an expert, or that access to the internet alone is equivalent to years of specialized education and experience.

I’ve read your posts on COVID over the years. Occasionally I’ve responded, more often others do so more than adequately so I don’t bother. And, like I said, I’m tired of arguing. I’m not going to convince you of anything, and I’m done wasting any time trying. So carry on. Carry on believing that updating guidelines as circumstances change somehow, someway, indicates that you were right all along, as if that makes sense.

But I do want to say this. Continuing to call COVID, especially when taken in the context of the entire pandemic, a “nearly universally survivable cold virus” is not just dumb, it’s offensive. It’s offensive to all those who died. It’s offensive to all their loved ones. It’s offensive to all their colleagues. And it’s offensive to all the medical professionals who have been working through this pandemic. And yes, before you start, I know the numbers. The numbers that you or other like minded individuals would use to back up such a statement, but I also know the statistics that I would argue show what an incredibly idiotic statement that is. But, again, I’m done arguing, so carry on.
