White people. It was during or just before my lifetime that fully overt institutional racism by governments and other institutions to keep black people from voting, or going to certain schools, or eating in certain restaurants, etc, was more or less snuffed out.

Setting aside the arguments about if/how institutional racism still exists, you have to be able to understand the greater sensitivity to the kind of racial discrimination that was, until pretty recently, official, open, and accepted policy in much of the country.

It’s also definitely NOT OK to discriminate against white people as depicted in this thread - I agree with that, and I think Boca was pretty damn unequivocal about that too.

Both of these sentiments can exist together. This sort of thing as described in your links in this thread should not be tolerated. Or even legal. But it also shouldn’t be used as some indication that white people and European culture and whatever are under fire in America.
