I enjoyed the book. Raised some interesting questions about what a grade is

Johnny sits in the back of the class. Silently plays with phone all class. Doesn't distract. Never turns in HW. Gets 100 on every quiz and test. What grade does he deserve?

Grading for Equity would suggest A+ He knows the material and that's all the grade should reflect. To assess him on things unrelated to the material is the inequity part. Moreover, even if he's a PITA and I throw him out of class each day, he gets the A+, conduct is dealt with separately.

I agree with you re: the devil is in the details, but it gets to some good questions.
