that are particularly inspiring. I don't think most people have jobs doing what they love, sad as that may seem. Being free to do what they really WANT to do would be a great thing potentially.

Here's the other thing; I don't think UBI necessarily has to be subsistence living. In fact, I would argue that it should not be. The very idea of economics, as Professor Elzinga taught us our first week in class, is the study of scarcity and the distribution of finite resources. If scarcity is no longer a problem because the costs of production has significantly dropped, then the difference would be wealth. Now, you can either distribute that wealth completely to the owners and handful of workers at the production facility, or you can distribute that wealth to people whose jobs have been eliminated.

This is going to require a reset on how we think about jobs, economy, culture, society. It is as impactful, probably more so, than the industrial revolution.
