King's protests were 100% about violence. During his time, he was seen as


an inciter of violence. He was thought to be disruptive and too aggressive. He wanted to "so dramatize the issue so it could no longer be ignored." Furthermore, he said: “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” King's nonviolent stance is pretty white-washed today. Everything he did was violent and caused violence because it was necessary. I mean, we are talking about a guy criticized by Malcolm X for marching children and "bringing" violence upon them.
