While I agree with your general sentiment, there does need to

be a level of "fairness" in the tax code. Take carried interest I have no issue with hedge fund guys making 8 figures+, and I have no problem with them getting to "keep more of their money", but I do have a problem with the gov't letting them keep 76% of their money when the gov't only let's me keep 58% of mine.

I don't know what this provision ultimately means for huge real estate developers, but if it allows them to pay a significantly lower rate than me, I don't like it not from the standpoint that I think the gov't is automatically entitled to their money, but if the gov't is going to tax citizens, they shouldn't tax provide such egregious preferential tax treatment for super rich.
