I try not to make assumptions about things I have little to no experience

with. I know that the people who come here from shitholes like Nigeria are far more likely to arrive with marketable skills than regular old Americans, like IT and medicine. Some of the brightest people I've ever met came here on an intrepid whim for the promise of being able to sustain a family in a functional economy. I know that this country was built on open immigration and today would have negative population growth if not for immigration. As a nation of immigrants, I find it distasteful that we demonize people. It smacks of our ancestors climbing a ladder, and the shittiest generation, the boomers, trying to pull that ladder up from behind them.
