And what's the point of speculating? I guess it can be a nice intellectual exercise on a message board, but really kind of irrelevant. What would you do, censor the media? Let's say you could - you don't think a thousand youtube, instagram and snapchat videos and pics would go viral?

If someone is willing to kill 17 people just to get attention, there are probably about 1000 reasons he will find to kill 17 people. So just like guns, anything should be fair game for discussion, but IMO there is very little to be gained from this topic.
