Absolutely no in the sense that the founders did not in general believe nor intend for Christianity to serve in any way as some formal or even informal state sponsored religion.

Judeo-Christian and biblical principles played an enormous role in many of our foundational ideas and institutions. Many founders and early leaders believed that such principles along with a (relatively) religiously educated citizenry would serve as an important and ongoing part of our culture -- although not in some exclusionary or required manner nor as an aspect of our formal governance. On the other hand, there is a difference between Christianity and Deism and the actual religious beliefs of many founders varied -- so how might this play into the notion of founders believing in some sense of a "Christian" nation?
