Oh, so when healthcare costs continue to grow well beyond inflation, there

won't be any movement to lowering those reimbursement rates (vs increasing taxes) to get those costs under control? (and that's assuming we don't have a $3 out for $1 in model with Medicare now, since obviously that's even more unsustainable in a "for all" model) So why aren't Medicaid rates raised (in any states, not just "hateful" GOP run ones) so more Docs are "happy, engaged and providing good service" while also opening up more providers willing to take those patients and cut wait times? Could it be the states already face those cost containment pressures and thus can't raise those reimbursement rates?

WADR I think that's incredibly naive. Reimbursement rates will absolutely be the first step used for cost containment, as will controlling procedures approved and wait times. Surely you're not just counting on pols to opt for raising taxes instead to make sure docs are "happy, engaged and providing good service".

BTW I note neither you nor Seattle addressed any states going this route. I really would like to see that because I do believe we'll be at Medicaid for All before I ever hit Medicare (and I'm not THAT far behind you). It would be nice to see some real world experience before that happens, and believe me, I hope you guys and your theories are right. Certainly if you are, states should certainly benefit from doing that and nothing stops them to my knowledge. Logic just doesn't work in helping me buy the theories and promises at this point.
