If Strzok were left to his own designs then there may well have been bias.


The point of the IG's report is he wasn't. Others are involved in the step by step decisions about the direction of the investigation, according to a whole body of protocols and procedures and checks and balances that guard against the danger of individual political bias infecting the investigation.

Because in the real world, nobody expects 35,000 FBI employees to be free of political opinions.

And it should certainly be yet another in an endless list of examples of the dangers of documenting one's every thought in text and email messages. I wonder if people will ever learn that. Appearance of impartiality is very important, and Strzok and others may face disciplinary action, as I understand it. And I have no problem with that.
