She is a member of People of Praise. That is what got the attention


PoP is not necessarily a Catholic organization although it draws from Catholic teachings. It is ecumenical meaning it takes all Christians, the only essential requirement being that one is baptized.

It’s a bit of an odd organization to be sure. Kind of a mix of religion and 60’s community togetherness. Interestingly they regard things like abortion as a sin but like greed not something to be legislated against.

So while I am sure she is strongly religious and that she consults her faith for what she does I am actually not sure she will be a Catholic culture warrior on the Court. Of course she is a conservative legal scholar so you can expect gobs of of Gorsuch style favor for the rich and powerful (because freedom).
