It's a fair question. What changed between today and yesterday.
I made the argument she should be allowed to speak yesterday. I thought she wanted to. I guess that is what changed.
I don't jump to the conclusion you do re: the reason for the change. I can't know, but suspect a spokesperson got that wrong yesterday, and I can imagine a lot of reasons why she never wanted to be grilled Anita Hill style. I suspect she's gotten herself into a terrible bind. I don't think it means she must be lying (she might be), and there are ways she and K could both be telling the truth. In any event, I strongly doubt an FBI background probe would prove anything.
I'd prefer they go through the motions of an FBI look anyway. But mostly I hate the whole fucking thing, and I fear for the future of judicial nominations, especially SC nominations. [Post edited by hoolstoptheheels at 09/19/2018 10:05PM]
