Feels like people on the far left have no idea what it's like to run a business, employ people and deal with the myriad of issues that arise every day. Instead of being honest and asking everyone for a sacrifice through higher taxes and reduced benefits, they pretend that we can merely tax our way out of the current fiscal predicament. You can't run a campaign on raising taxes and lowering benefits but it would be nice to see some leadership at some point.

The far right gives lip service to the above but designs policies to protect the elite and throw chum to the simpletons about social issues that they don't give a shit about themselves. (Does anyone for one second think Trump wouldn't have paid for an abortion from the porn star?) They don't focus on efficient regulation, only on no regulation, which helps ensure that we will periodically go through these waves of major financial and social unrest. Over the long-term, one of these waves will topple us. Empires fall when the commoners wake up and realize that they represent 98% of the country and it's not too hard to motivate them to stand up.
