it is still bringing it up to someone that doesn't need to know you are white with one minority in the family history unless it gives you some sort of edge. and since you opened this box ill just quote:

they didn't dig that info up. she readily put that out there (based on a family story no less). i am not accusing Warren of getting any jobs because of her ancestry. i am accusing her of publicizing a dubious claim (even with the evidence she presented, she's not 100% proven true) that can only help her in some way. anytime someone has told me their ancestry unprompted it was to give them some latitude or depth to make some sort of really stupid statement. or to elicit sympathy when none was warranted.

you can think what you want, but she claims her heritage and put it out there for personal gain in some fashion. we can disagree to what, but there is no other reason to have checked those boxes.
