Yeah, but that's more a consequence of consumer demand for SUVs
than anything else. Everything on that list except the Volt is a sedan, and the Volt is being supplanted by the Bolt
People just aren't buying sedans any more so GM is discontinuing many of them. Yeah, parts suppliers may suffer, but presumably parts suppliers for the SUV market are doing better (and presumably, most parts suppliers provide parts for both the sedan and SUV market).
The Cruze is the only one that surprises me as that was a top 5 seller for GM, but is still outsold 2:1 by both the Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic. And it's outsold by a factor of 3:1 by the Silverado truck (on a units basis probably 5:1 on a revenue basis). So I suspect GM is just focusing on its more profitable, higher demand models.
And I don't think any of this really has anything to do with Trump. The Impala doesn't suddenly become a compelling full size sedan if not for the tariffs.
