You'd like "to hear from him why [you] should choose a coffee magnate with

zero political experience to head the Executive branch of the most powerful country on earth."

That's why there are campaigns. So candidates can explain their views, and policy prescriptions. If he can't articulate a coherent platform his run for office will never take off, and you have nothing to worry about. If I had to wager, I'd say you don't have anything to worry about even if he can.

Obama's lead in to his presidency was effectively running for office. He didn't really advance anything of note during his layover in the Senate. But while he didn't have much experience in gov, and while I disagreed with many of his policies, he wasn't a bad leader.

The paternalism comment comes from the notion that "we don't need" such a candidate (my emphasis). But it's for voters to decide what they need. I was also speaking to the broader and visceral reaction when Shultz first started talking about a run more than your post.
