We subsize crap food


Corn subsidies have to go. Our farmers produce too much of it, and it ends up in our diet. Let's subsidize healthy food, then maybe our diets can improve and health care costs can go down naturally.

I know people want to push personal responsibility, but when the government artificially makes unhealthy food cheap, that tilts the scales towards making awful decisions. I still remember when I went to Arby's about 10 years ago and ordered 2 roast beef sandwiches for $2. I got a side of broccoli, and that side was $2.19. In what sane world is a side of broccoli cheaper than 2 roast beef sandwiches? We make unhealthy food artificially cheaper. Shouldn't we be doing the exact opposite?
