Man, I agree with your post up top, that it is disappointing to see this even became a topic here. Some of these freshmen dem reps do have a lot to learn about choosing their words more judiciously, but she essentially said two things: 1 - my people, the Palestinian people, got screwed (I think most of us would feel that way in her shoes), and 2 - my distress over that is greatly tempered by the fact that the screwing of the Palestinians resulted in a safe haven for a long-oppressed people who had just suffered a horrific mass-genocide. In other words, "in my suffering I take comfort from its contribution to the happiness of others who suffered so much themselves". Pure line of shit, sure, but a gracious sentiment.
It was a generous statement that she left exposed to propagandists with her choice of words, so shame on her. But shame on the propagandists more. Who Trump met with yesterday is not really relevant to this, although it may be relevant to his continuing efforts to align with populist nationalist nutjobs. .
