I think her cellphone played a roll in her actions
I think her actions were negligent and reckless. She had just completed a long shift and she was focused to the point of distraction with what was going on with her phone. Most people that are tired and distracted by their phone kill people with a car and not a gun. People have a hard time understanding how she could have missed all the clues and gone into the wrong apartment. I think she was so involved with her phone that she could have walked into about any apartment thinking it was hers. I also think she was distracted to the point that her judgment was significantly impaired when she was confronted by the victim.
