- this is not the only venue for this determination to be made. Given the certainty of senate acquittal, it is not even the best venue. The election is not only the best venue, in this environment, it will be the only venue for that determination. I don't even agree that this is the only way to have this aired for public consumption. Using the "i" word, especially now, after so many dems started using it the second Trump was elected and never stopped, only ensures that this venue for the public airing will be endlessly obscured by political spin. And it has never been harder than it is now to pierce political spin.

- the only way we will "codify" this corruption is to impeach, acquit, and re-elect. That codifies, exonerates, confirms it. Impeaching and acquitting does no more to punish a crime than indicting and acquitting does.

Which brings us back to the election. As I bet Pelosi would tell you, as she was backed into a corner to finally call for this, this is exactly the sort of fight you only start if you know you will win.
