That is a much better argument (how Joe Biden is handling it now).

I believe Hunter has said that, in retrospect, he shouldn't have taken the board position, and that if his dad is elected President he promises to not make any career moves that could involve potential conflicts. I think Joe's best move would be to just say the same thing and leave it at that.

While it clearly would have been better for dad and son to have had a chat back in 2008 about Hunter's work over the following 8 years (and maybe they did and Hunter ignored it), it drives me nuts when people suggest that a dad should have full control over the decisions of his 45-year-old son.

And while I agree with not liking children of powerful/rich people getting advantages off of their parents' names, that's a broader problem across all of society - that's not a problem specific to Joe Biden that makes him uniquely less qualified to be President.
