I didn't support that initially no. And as you know neither did the party.
That's a canard. It is however, warranted given recent events.
But forget impeachment for a moment. What does the Congress do to check executive power? What? They sit on their hands for wars. They don't do anything when the President unilaterally makes trade deals. We now have precedent for the President to ignore Congressional appropriations through their allowance of this perpetual state of emergency we apparently have. What does Congress do? Essentially the President may now be a Caesar with Congress going through the motions of a republic while the Executive wields the authority of empire.
We're very close to that tipping point.
