right? There is likely certainly some common ground to work with Trump if he had any sort of initiative he wanted to work with the Congress. A couple of things have happened, like the prison reform bill and, of course the tax cut. But I already listed ways the Congress has abdicated power to the executive branch. Now maybe you're correct; maybe the impeachment vote is an effort to actually stand up to Trump's obvious abuse of power. It remains to be seen if that ultimately matters or not.
Also, if I were you I wouldn't get too cocky. The 2020 election is coming and the GOP got their butts kicked in 2018. Not to much avail. Congress has been unable to check Trump very much.
