I actually don't have a big problem with felons getting their voting rights

restored after they've completed all conditions of their sentences, including restitution, paying fines, etc. if applicable (there was some complaining about it here by the same proponents, when FL wasn't going to allow it until after they paid fines, etc.). Once you've fully paid all of your debts to society, I don't really have an issue with restoring their rights. (although I suspect most that advocate that would not apply that to their 2nd Amendment rights)

While I'm not so delusional as to think taking someone's voting rights is any type of deterrent to those willing to commit felonies, I do still think there should be rights lost. And I have a problem with letting prisoners vote for candidates that can impact their ability to get early parole, shortened sentences, other reforms directly beneficial to them, etc.
